Firefox ESR

SUMO does not distinguish obsolete Firefox version and Firefox ESR 10.0.4 ( extended support release )

But the only info from file properties seems to be BuildID 20120420145309

Yes and No.
Yes as there is FF 12, of course.
No, as there is no newer FF ESR as 10.0.4

Everybody who has FF 10.0.4 has FF ESR and is using FF ESR for the reason.
He is not interested in stable FF 12.x of FF 13, but in FF ESR 10.0.5.

But I agree it is minor issue as most people use FF auto updates/notifications.

Edit: FF ESR also uses it own update channel, so it is never auto updated to normal FF

Maybe we should ask Mozilla to separate the normal Firefox and the ESR version to two individual browsers in a way which would allow sumo and other softwares or OS-s to distinguish them without a problem. 17 will be the next ESR merge point, but even the dev channel Nightly is only at 16 now, so they will have time to accomplish this if decide to do so.

but current ESX uses schema 10.0.x, even if I am not sure what was the initial number, if 10.0 or 10.0.0
Normal FF was 10.x
