Summary 0005577: TurboTax software keeping name, but changing major version number every year
Revision 2019-07-13 14:39 by Kyle_Katarn
Description Certain kinds of software, most notably tax software release a new product every year, however they don't change the name, but only the main version number (see image upload for Turbo Tax).

For those kinds of software, SUMo should ideally use the main version number to differentiate different products and only the minor version numbers to check for the latest version. E.g. in the Turbo Tax example in the uploaded image, for Turbo Tax 2017 any version 2018.x.y.z should be irrelevant, it should only be checked against version 2017.x.y.z.
