Summary0005847: Ability to Run a Software Check on a Schedule and Send a Report
DescriptionI would love to see the functionality added to SUMo that would allow the ability to schedule a software check on a user-determined interval. Upon completion of the scheduled scan, the user would have the ability to send the results via e-mail. This would basically put an end to manual, interactive scanning yet still keep me informed of available software updates and their criticality.

This will come as a new feature in "SUMo Online". Did you already test the "SUMo online" feature with remote scan/check requests ?

I think this would make it good for the monitoring dashboard, as well, since there would not be a need to manually click the scan function.
In addition, if there was an *indicator on the dashboard* for the schedule for each remote computer, then I could periodically click on those computers that were not scanning regularly, while the rest automatically scanned on a schedule.

Kyle, I have used the manual Scan and Check buttons on the online dashboard. I think it would be great to have the ability to set a schedule (from the dashboard ideally, but from the remote computer, at a minimum).

And if you provided a drill-down on each monitored PC that showed the "updates needed" programs. that would be ideal.
The person monitoring the remote computers could then decide if there was a need to remote in and update a critical program, but to wait on a minor update until a more convenient time.

Finally, if there was an automatic SUMo update setting on the SUMo program on the remote computer, then SUMo would keep itself up to date whenever there was a new version. That'd be one less update to handle.
