Suggestion - SUMo main and subordinate desktop window positioning

Post by GLykos » Fri Jun 17, 2016 6:11 am

Greetings! Very much appreciate the use of SUMo, which I happened to learn of from an enthusiastic website review.

Wish to offer a suggestion for consideration regarding the positioning of the main and subordinate program desktop windows, namely:

- When SUMo is started, its position on the screen is locked in place until the startup sequence completes, whatever it may be. Would be nice to be able to pull the main window to a desired screen location while active.
- When SUMo is run, there are a number of subordinate status boxes that open centered on the main window. If the main window is moved to a new screen location (when able) and run further, the subordinate windows open away from the main window in disconnected space. This is especially noticeable when using dual monitors as extended desktop. I suppose there are a number of treatments possible, but would be nice if the subordinate windows would at least be aware of where the main window is located and opened within it as done at default startup.
- Would perhaps be an extra plus if the SUMo main window remembered from one program execution to the next where it was last positioned.

None of these are operational issues per se - merely offered as suggestions for enhancing the UI to be a little more adaptive to user preferences. Have no feeling for what magnitude of effort would be required or if warranted.

Thanks, and regards,
George
