DUMo gives bad advice

Post by vailr »

Re: Intel(R) 82801 PCI Bridge - 244E _ v7.0.1.1011
http://www.kcsoftwares.com/dumo/view.ph ... tel&OS=6.2
DUMo v. 1.2.03 says that (based solely on the version number) this 2008 dated driver from Intel is better/newer than the installed Microsoft Windows 8.1 version: 6.3.9600.17031, dated 2006.
This "v7.0.1.1011" driver cannot be located anywhere via Google search, and the latest version 9.4.xx Intel chipset installer doesn't provide any updated driver past version 6.3.9600.17031.
Conclusion: for Windows 8.1 (at least), 6.3.9600.17031 is the actual latest version, conflicting with DUMo's recommendation of using version 7.0.1.1011.

Hi everybody,
Be careful for device called "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC"
Good driver dépends on the supported computer model, e.g workstation or notebook
For example, in case of my HP Elite 7200, the good driver is 6.10.6491.0 REV.H (24 Jun 2014) and not 6.10.6498.0 REV.A (5 Mar 2014) which is suggested by DUMO, nor 6.10.6499.0 (21 mars 2014) ; both last do not run...
Thanks for your great work anyway
