What specifically do the Check and Scan functions do?

Scan : Looks for installed software and "populates" SUMo main list => to be used after installing new software, ... Recomm : on a weekly / monthly basis
Check : Checks if updates are available for software in the list => To be used... as frequently as possible :-)
