SSL NOT Supported

I use GMail as mt smtp. How can I use if SML NOT supported?

Not possible. SSL support is still under development.

I just downloaded and tried to send an email using the SMTP in gmail, but it is a no-go.
Nothing works using gmail, I assume because SSL is still NOT supported.
Why is this?
