tested 2 vers and noticed that 2.0.4.17 showed that my driver is Up-to-date, then ran 2.3.2.24 and it showed correct available version,
so i assume that version info is embedded in exe? so i don`t see point in updating continually exe every time, wouldn`t it be more easier to check site`s db for actual versions not embed it every time for every change? (same goes to sumo) pls explain

DUMo uses online DB for driver versions.

but why older version didn`t show correct driver version? is db structure constantly changes?

Server database is dynamically updated + detection algorithm has changed so the same driver might have a slightly different "signature" in DUMo DB.
"As per design" i'd say :)

don`t want to torture you with questions anymore but always thought that comparing is plain simple - name and version and maybe company as an option... what algorithm u talk about makes me wonder 8-)

It's as simple as you described but i've made some changed in the detection routine in order to modify the company names in order to "rationalize" : merge Intel, Intel, Inc, Intel Corp, .... into 1 single name.
Therefore, the "signature" (Product+Company) has changed, leading to a new, dedicated DB entry.

do you update your db with direct official software`s sites new version info, or just users submitted data, if not sumo would be more up to date informer if such auto scripts which check sites will be implemented.

SUMo / DUMo db are automatically filled based on users reports
